Call for Workshops

The call for workshops for ICYMARE 2025 BREMERHAVEN is open!

You've given the talks, you've presented the posters – now it’s time to take your conference experience to the next level at ICYMARE 2025 BREMERHAVEN. We invite you to host your own workshop and share your expertise with the ICYMARE community.

Why host a workshop?

ICYMARE is more than just research presentations and scientific talks – it’s about networking, skill-building, and interdisciplinary exchange. Whether you want to offer hands-on training, an interactive discussion, or a creative session, we welcome all ideas that help students and early career researchers navigate academia and professional life. Be bold and innovative – our team is happy to support you in refining your concept.

Workshop format

Midway through the conference, we take a break from traditional sessions to make space for workshops and excursions. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Workshops can run for up to four hours and should be adaptable for both small and large groups.
  • Formats can range from classroom discussions to interactive simulations – we’ve even had participants successfully impersonating North Sea crabs before!
  • For inspiration, check out past workshops from ICYMARE 2024 BREMEN: ICYMARE 2024 Retrospective.

How to submit your workshop proposal

To submit your workshop, please register via our conference tool at conference.icymare.com and access the workshop submission guidelines in your MyICYMARE area. Once you have reviewed the requirements, submit your proposal by May 31, 2025.

What we need from you

  • A short workshop abstract with a brief description of your session.
  • The maximum number of participants your workshop can accommodate.
  • Any special requirements, such as materials you will bring or support you need from our side.

We look forward to seeing your creative workshop ideas come to life at ICYMARE 2025 BREMERHAVEN!
